Republican Ashley Moody defeated Angie Nixon in Florida's special election.
Moody was initially appointed to the US Senate seat in January 2025.
Progressive Democrats Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez campaigned with Nixon.
Moody will serve the remainder of the term until the 2028 election.
