Police Investigate Gang Links After Teen Dies in Drive-By Shooting

Queensland law enforcement agencies are actively investigating potential gang connections after a nineteen-year-old woman succumbed to injuries sustained in a drive-by shooting south of Brisbane. Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau, a resident of Jimboomba, passed away at the Princess Alexandra hospital on Thursday morning following the violent incident over the weekend.

The attack occurred on Saturday night when masked assailants fired into a gathering crowd outside a pub in Loganholme. The venue was hosting a boxing event at the time of the shooting. The young victim suffered critical injuries to her head and neck during the ambush.

In addition to the fatality, three adult men aged twenty-seven, thirty-seven, and thirty-eight were also hospitalized. One of the male victims is currently recovering from surgical procedures, while the other two individuals have since been discharged from medical care.

“We will not stop until these people are identified and taken into custody,” Detective Inspector Galpin stated during the press conference. He highlighted that the victim was simply enjoying an evening out with friends when the attack took place, describing the shooting as a cowardly act. Investigators have urged anyone possessing relevant details about the incident to come forward.

Police noted that the family of the deceased victim is currently experiencing immense distress and has requested privacy during this difficult period. Authorities continue their search for the individuals responsible for the attack as the investigation expands.
