Houthi-linked media in Yemen report that at least 25 people were killed in Saudi airstrikes, as renewed fighting escalates the conflict.

Media outlets connected to the Houthi movement in Yemen have reported that a minimum of 25 individuals, including young children and women, lost their lives during airstrikes conducted by Saudi Arabia. Live video footage broadcast by the Houthi-operated television station Al Masirah depicted emergency responders recovering bodies from the debris of multiple structures located in al-Shariyah, a settlement situated east of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa. The broadcast additionally captured footage of injured victims being transported on stretchers toward local medical facilities, while the Saba news agency also attributed the military operation to Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, officials representing the Saudi-led coalition that supports Yemen's internationally recognized government have not issued any official statements regarding the reported incident. The wider military conflict in Yemen had experienced a period of dormancy before reigniting following the Iran war. Tensions escalated significantly after a truce began to deteriorate when Saudi Arabia targeted the airport in Sanaa to prevent an Iranian flight from landing there. In response, the Tehran-backed Houthi movement launched attacks against Abha airport inside Saudi Arabia and subsequently targeted commercial vessels utilizing Red Sea shipping lanes as alternative oil export routes. Major military confrontations have since restarted between Houthi forces and troops aligned with the Saudi-backed administration. Recent violence has also heavily impacted locations such as Taiz province, where a separate market attack reportedly resulted in numerous casualties, with warring sides offering conflicting accounts of responsibility. According to United Nations figures, more than 1,600 people have died and upwards of 300,000 residents have been displaced since full-scale combat resumed. Prior to the strike in al-Shariyah, the Saudi-led coalition stated that it successfully intercepted an incoming missile directed toward Riyadh, and Houthi leadership has publicly vowed to pursue retaliation for the ongoing military campaigns. ## Houthis Saudi Arabia Conflict Escalates
