Binance is set to initiate the second phase of its recovery plan this Tuesday, allowing for the withdrawal of additional assets as the exchange works to restore full functionality. This development follows a significant security breach last week that resulted in $6.3 billion in losses, prompting a temporary freeze on various assets. As users search for the latest Binance withdrawal resume updates, the exchange confirmed that services will be restored progressively starting at 04:00 UTC.
Following an initial reopening of services on November 1, the platform has seen a stabilization in activity. According to data provided by DefiLlama, net outflows from the exchange have notably decreased. On Monday, net outflows were recorded at $2.57 billion, a significant drop from the $6.1 billion observed the previous day. While the platform continues to navigate the aftermath of the incident, deposits remain fully operational for all users.
Binance is rolling out a second phase of asset withdrawals as platform outflows begin to stabilize.
Managing the Binance withdrawal resume process
The exchange stated that the current rollout prioritizes tokens based on user demand observed over the past week. The second phase encompasses several major networks, including Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Solana, XRP Ledger, Arbitrum, Optimism, Tron, Base, and Sui. Binance emphasized that the reopening will continue to occur in stages as security and readiness checks are completed for each specific asset.
In addition to digital assets, the exchange has expanded its support for fiat currencies. On Monday, Binance announced that it had reopened withdrawals for the US dollar, the United Arab Emirates dirham, the Vietnamese dong, the Philippine peso, and the Indonesian rupiah. These additions complement a pre-existing list of 23 other currencies that were already available for withdrawal.
Security warnings for users
Amid the ongoing recovery efforts, Binance issued a stern warning regarding potential fraudulent activity. The exchange cautioned that scammers are actively attempting to exploit the phased reopening by impersonating official Binance representatives. These bad actors have been observed offering services such as accelerated withdrawals, priority processing, or assistance with compensation claims. Some scammers are reportedly directing users to move their funds into a fraudulent "Binance vault." The exchange reiterated that any individual or entity promising to expedite the withdrawal process in exchange for a fee is attempting to defraud the user.
Why it matters
This phased restoration of services is critical for stabilizing market confidence following one of the largest security breaches in crypto history. For users globally, including those across South Asia, the ability to access funds and fiat currencies is a vital step toward restoring normal operations. The situation highlights the importance of vigilance against phishing attempts during periods of platform instability.
