Royal Mail has revealed its new festive stamp collection featuring Nativity scenes, marking the 60th anniversary of the first holiday special issue.
Royal Mail has unveiled its festive stamps for this year, featuring traditional scenes from the Nativity. The new set consists of five designs created through a collaboration between graphic designer Gareth Howat and illustrator Rebecca Sutherland. The artwork portrays familiar moments from the holiday story, including Mary and Joseph on their journey, baby Jesus, an angel, shepherds, and the Three Wise Men.
This year's launch marks the diamond anniversary of the first-ever Christmas special issue. The original collection was released in December 1966 following a children's art competition announced by the then-postmaster Tony Benn. Recent years have seen seasonal releases depicting snowy UK cathedrals or lyrics from well-known carols, while the 2025 collection also highlighted the Nativity.
Illustrator Rebecca Sutherland expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to work on the project. Having collected stamps since childhood, she noted that creating her own set felt profoundly special. David Gold of Royal Mail expressed hope that the new stamps would bring an extra touch of festive magic to the numerous holiday greetings sent out to loved ones locally and globally.
The new Christmas royal mail collection features five Nativity scenes celebrating a 60-year tradition.

The creation of the five stamps involved a joint effort by Gareth Howat and Rebecca Sutherland. Sutherland described being chosen as an absolute honor given her lifelong passion for collecting stamps since she was young.
Why it matters
The release of the holiday stamp collection continues a long-standing festive tradition that began six decades ago. It affects millions of people who send greetings to family and friends at home and internationally by adding a symbolic touch of seasonal artwork to their mail.
