Bitcoin Magazine Books initiated a third-anniversary campaign for Aaron van Wirdum's historical volume, offering a redesigned Collectors Edition capped at 333 hand-signed and individually numbered hardcovers. The physical copies feature an exclusive Genesis Block slipcase, with standard packages priced at $221 alongside a limited trading card, a Certificate of Authenticity, a collector pin, a sticker sheet, and a digital package. Preorder shipments for the physical collector and premium orders are scheduled for the calendar year 2027.
Two special packages are excluded from the regular numbering queue. The number one package is listed at $5,000, while the number twenty-one package is set at $2,500, with each including matching numbered copies and one-of-one collector cards. Standard collector numbers are allocated in the order of purchase beginning at number two and skipping number twenty-one, according to the campaign details. Once preorders conclude, the signed print run will not be reproduced again.
Signed hardcovers of Aaron van Wirdum's historical work are limited to 333 numbered copies.
Alongside the signed release, Bitcoin Magazine Books introduced an unlimited Premium Edition hardcover priced at $160, featuring foil stamping, a ribbon marker, stained page edges, and custom endsheets. This alternative edition lacks signatures, numbering, slipcases, collector accessories, and digital files. Additionally, a standalone Digital Package containing the EPUB ebook and MP4 audiobook is available immediately for $9.99.
Authored by the former bitcoin magazine editor-in-chief who discovered cryptocurrency in 2013, the publication explores the computer scientists, privacy activists, and heterodox economists who pursued government-independent digital money prior to the 2008 white paper. The text covers early cypherpunk culture and historical experiments such as ecash, b-money, Hashcash, and reusable proof of work. BTC Inc., a subsidiary of Nakamoto Inc., operates the campaign and publishes the underlying media platform.
Why it matters
