Nvidia Stock Tokens Show Price Spreads, but Slippage Crushes Arbitrage

Recent data reveals that price differences between Nvidia stock tokens across various issuers and exchanges leave little room for arbitrage profit once market slippage is factored in.

Tokens tracking Nvidia shares can trade at different prices across issuers and exchanges, but purchasing the cheaper version while selling a dearer one leaves minimal room for profit, according to data published by Coin Metrics on Nov. 3. Investors tracking nvidia stock may notice visible price gaps, but execution studies show that entry and exit slippage often diminish potential gains.
In one modeled comparison involving a $1,000 trade between Hyperliquid NVDAx and Binance NVDAb, a gross gap of 10 basis points faced matching slippage, leaving just one basis point before trading fees. A second comparison buying Hyperliquid NVDAx and selling Kraken NVDAx showed an 18-basis-point gross gap facing 33 basis points of slippage, resulting in a negative 15-basis-point margin before fees. These historical results use data from June to Nov. 2, 2026, and exclude trading fees.
Understanding the Spread
Executing such trades requires holding the same share exposure, having assets available to sell on the expensive side, and qualifying for specific settlement routes. Bitquery noted in a Nov. 1 correction that its Nvidia tokens use separate contracts without a direct bridge or issuer swap, meaning purchasing a cheaper product does not supply the exact token needed for a sale.
Additional complications arise from multipliers and dividend treatments. Kraken explained that dividend reinvestment can increase the share exposure displayed in an xStock balance while the on-chain token count remains unchanged. Furthermore, platform access rules limit participation. Kraken excludes users in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia from accessing xStocks, and classifies these instruments as tracker certificates providing economic exposure without direct share ownership or voting rights.
Price spreads on Nvidia stock tokens shrink significantly once entry and exit slippage are applied.
Why it matters
These findings demonstrate that apparent price disparities between tokenized equity versions do not automatically translate into viable arbitrage opportunities for traders. The combination of market slippage, distinct token contracts, varying dividend treatments, and regional platform restrictions creates practical barriers that affect market participants attempting to execute cross-venue trades.
