Solana Labs is expanding its ecosystem with the launch of Leap, a new company focused on providing a comprehensive mobile trading platform. While many users are familiar with Solana Labs products and the broader market, the team behind this initiative is shifting focus toward traders who seek long-term, informed decision-making rather than the volatility associated with meme coins.
Leap has launched a beta version of its mobile application, currently available for iPhone users via Appleโs public TestFlight program. The platform allows users to trade a variety of assets, including tokenized stocks, ETFs, metals, currencies, and cryptocurrencies, all within a single interface. The company plans to release an Android version in the near future, though the app remains unavailable in the U.K. and other restricted regions.

Technology and Infrastructure The app was developed by the team behind Dialect, which was acquired by Solana Labs earlier this year. Dialect is known for creating Solana Actions and Blinks, as well as the cashtags feature on X. To ensure performance, Leap utilizes Jupiter for trade routing, Helius for infrastructure, and Birdeye for market data. According to Chris Osborn, Leapโs general manager and Dialectโs founder, the integration of Alpenglow, a consensus overhaul, allows the Solana blockchain to confirm trades in approximately 150 milliseconds.
Leap differentiates itself by integrating market-moving news directly onto price charts at the moment of publication. It also provides automated tracking for profit and loss, including fees and breakeven prices. While there are no platform fees at launch, users are subject to network and routing costs. Future plans include using revenue to burn SOL tokens and fund a referral program, including a "Founders Club" for early waitlist members.
Why it matters This launch highlights the growing trend of tokenized assets on the Solana network, following similar efforts by firms like Securitize. While the move aims to bring more users onchain, it enters a space facing regulatory scrutiny, as some companies have opposed the tokenization of their shares on trading venues. For the broader ecosystem, the app represents a push toward institutional-grade utility, as noted by Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko, who stated that every app bringing new users onchain strengthens the entire network.
