BYD is preparing to expand its Indian market presence by introducing its luxury sub-brand, Denza. Recent sightings of a BYD Denza Z9 GT in a signature green finish have confirmed that the high-performance shooting brake is being tested on local roads ahead of its scheduled debut. The vehicle, which is set to launch on November 13, 2026, alongside the D9 luxury MPV, marks a significant step in the company's strategy to offer premium electric and hybrid options to Indian consumers.
BYD Denza Z9 GT Performance and Design
The Denza Z9 GT is designed as a flagship performance vehicle, showcasing the brand's 'Elegance In Motion' aesthetic. It features a long bonnet, a sloping roofline, and a distinctive split roof spoiler. The interior is equally sophisticated, equipped with a 17.3-inch infotainment screen, dual 13.2-inch displays for the driver and front passenger, and a 50-inch head-up display. Comfort is prioritized through electrically operated, heated, and ventilated massage seats, alongside a premium Devialet audio system.
In international markets, the model is available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully electric (EV) configurations. The top-spec EV e3 Performance variant utilizes a 122.5 kWh battery and a triple-motor setup, delivering a peak output of 1,156 bhp and 1,210 Nm of torque. This configuration allows for a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.7 seconds. The PHEV version, which utilizes BYDโs DM 5.0 technology, combines a 2.0L engine with electric motors to provide a total system range of up to 1,100 km. The unit spotted in India did not feature specific badging to distinguish between the powertrain options.
The BYD Denza Z9 GT will launch in India on November 13, 2026, as a high-performance luxury shooting brake.
