Medical sources report that four Palestinians, including a child, have been killed in recent Israeli strikes across central and southern Gaza.
Recent Israeli military operations across central and southern Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least four Palestinians, including a child, according to medical reports. While there is public interest regarding reports of four israeli soldiers killed in gaza, the current situation on the ground involves ongoing strikes affecting civilian populations in the enclave. Medical personnel at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah confirmed that 27-year-old Abdul Rahim Walid Matar was killed at dawn on Thursday when an Israeli drone targeted a tent housing displaced individuals west of az-Zawayda with two missiles.

Further south, the Nasser Medical Complex reported that a woman was killed and two others were wounded by Israeli fire outside of areas currently under military control in Khan Younis. Simultaneously, a child was killed in the Bureij refugee camp, a death confirmed by staff at al-Awda Hospital. On-the-ground reports indicate that Israeli forces positioned on the outskirts of areas overlooking al-Mawasi have been firing heavily toward camps for displaced people. Another drone strike in the Az-zawaya area claimed the life of a fourth person, according to medical sources. In the al-Baraka area of Deir el-Balah, a separate drone strike on a group of residents left several individuals wounded, one in critical condition.

In northern Gaza, a drone strike on an apartment in al-Karama wounded one person, while Israeli artillery and naval vessels targeted the coastline near Gaza City. Military vehicles were also observed firing near the Hosni al-Musaddar Mosque, and reports from residents east of Khan Younis described powerful explosions as the army demolished homes and civilian infrastructure within controlled zones. Forces are reportedly advancing on the eastern edges of al-Musaddar and Deir el-Balah, where they have been bulldozing farmland and residential structures. Data from the Gaza Health Ministry indicates that 1,602 Palestinians have been killed and 5,794 wounded since the ceasefire began on October 11, 2025, bringing the total casualties since October 2023 to 74,618 killed and 175,920 wounded.
Why it matters
Gaza officials state that over 1,600 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect, highlighting the persistent nature of the conflict. This ongoing violence continues to displace residents and destroy civilian infrastructure, deepening the humanitarian crisis for those trapped within the enclave.
