The International Cricket Council has announced official details regarding the upcoming ICC World Cup schedule and tournament structure, bringing significant attention to global cricket events. Nepal has been officially confirmed as the host nation for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier Playoff, scheduled to run from December 4 through December 21.

What is the ICC Qualifier Playoff?

Eight international teams will compete in a round-robin format to secure the final four positions in the larger ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2027. The participating nations aiming for these remaining slots in the 10-team Global Qualifier include Nepal, Italy, Namibia, Uganda, Canada, Kuwait, Jersey, and the United Arab Emirates.

Tournament fixtures begin on December 4 with simultaneous opening matches. Hosts Nepal will face Italy at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, while Namibia and Uganda contest their opening fixture at the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground. West Indies and Ireland earned their places as the highest-ranked sides outside of automatically qualified teams, excluding full member co-hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, the USA, Scotland, the Netherlands, and Oman qualified directly by finishing in the top four positions of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2.
