Strive reported $474.8 million of net income attributable to common stockholders for the third quarter ended September 30. The financial print arrived alongside a company claim that Class A total return had outperformed bitcoin by 103.7% year to date through the same date. Investors tracking strive asst results noted that GAAP net income reached $509.0 million, or $5.24 per share on a fully diluted basis. Almost all of that total stemmed from a $533.7 million unrealized gain on digital assets marked to fair value, as operating revenue for the quarter stood at just $2.7 million.
In a post on X, Strive highlighted a year-to-date bitcoin yield of 63.2% and a bitcoin dollar gain of $9.00 per assumed diluted share outstanding. Chairman and CEO Matthew Cole attributed the common equity's relative performance to the successful execution of the corporate treasury management strategy. Bitcoin yield, defined by the firm as the percentage change in bitcoin per share over a specific period, reached 18.5% in the third quarter alone and 19.3% from October 1 through October 30.
Strive posted $474.8 million in common net income driven primarily by unrealized bitcoin gains.
The company acquired 8,136 bitcoin in the third quarter at an average cost of roughly $78,885, followed by another 15,124 coins between October 1 and October 30. Total holdings stood at 43,124 bitcoin by the end of October, supported by capital raised through perpetual preferred shares. For the nine months ended September 30, however, Strive recorded a net loss attributable to common stockholders of $88.4 million, reflecting volatility and fair-value accounting concentration.
Why it matters
This corporate earnings report illustrates how balance sheet accounting for digital assets can significantly impact reported quarterly profits for firms holding large cryptocurrency reserves. The outcome highlights the financial mechanics of treasury-focused corporate strategies funded through perpetual preferred issuances rather than traditional operating revenues.
