An influencer boxing event in Ireland descended into a riot after the far-right activist Tommy Robinson made inflammatory remarks.
An influencer boxing event held in Kilkenny, Ireland, erupted into violence at midnight on Saturday, leading to multiple arrests and hospital treatment. The gathering at the Hub venue, organised by internet personalities Harrison Sullivan and Ed Matthews under their Unhinged company, drew intense scrutiny after far-right activist Tommy Robinson appeared as a ringside guest.
The event was livestreamed on the Kick platform to approximately 1.8 million viewers. Proceedings turned volatile when Robinson was invited to the commentator desk by the organisers. Holding a copy of his book, Robinson made inflammatory and incorrect statements regarding Muslim communities. These comments offended many diverse attendees and directly preceded a physical confrontation inside the ring involving Muslim social media personality Mohammad Kubba.
Following an initial scuffle, Sullivan urged Kubba to return for an unscheduled confrontation with Robinson. As Kubba re-entered the ring, which was now crowded with Robinson's supporters, Robinson threw a book featuring Arabic-style lettering at him. This action sparked a widespread brawl throughout the venue, with attendees hurling chairs and barricades while chaotic scenes unfolded for about 20 minutes before security and local police intervened.

A Garda Sรญochรกna spokesperson confirmed that a man in his thirties was assaulted and taken to St Luke Hospital, while another man in his twenties was detained. Additionally, a teenage boy was arrested and subsequently charged with violent disorder. Footage of the Tommy riot quickly circulated across social media platforms in real time.
Why it matters
The violent episode highlights how online influencer culture and provocative offline appearances can rapidly escalate into physical disorder, drawing heavy local police intervention and international attention via live streaming platforms. The incident left local residents shaken in a city unaccustomed to such large-scale public disturbances.
