Fenerbahce upset Liverpool in Dirk Kuyt's second match as coach, while Como equaled a competition record with a 9-1 victory over Lens.
The latest Champions League results have reshaped the standings as Fenerbahce secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Liverpool in Istanbul. Interim head coach Dirk Kuyt, a former Liverpool player, guided his side to their first win of the campaign after twice coming from behind to defeat the visitors. Trey Nyoni opened the scoring for Liverpool, but a Mason Greenwood free kick leveled the game. Although Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak restored the lead for the English side, a second-half surge featuring a header from Archie Brown and a late winner from Vedat Muriqi finalized the upset.
Meanwhile, Como made headlines by equalling the largest winning margin in the competition's history with a 9-1 demolition of Lens. The Italian side became the first team since 1971 to score nine goals away from home in the European Cup, bringing their total goal tally to 19 for the season. This dominant performance lifted Como to fourth in the standings with nine points from four matches. Elsewhere, Real Madrid maintained their momentum with a 3-2 victory against AEK Athens, secured by a stoppage-time goal from Federico Valverde, while Manchester City drew 1-1 with Leipzig after a Castello Lukeba own goal was canceled out by Ridle Baku.
Como equaled the Champions League record with a stunning 9-1 away victory against Lens.
The results significantly impact the current Champions League table, with Liverpool dropping to eighth place while Como climbs into the top four. For Fenerbahce, the victory provides a crucial morale boost under new interim leadership. These matches highlight the unpredictable nature of the tournament, as debutants like Como continue to challenge established clubs, affecting the qualification outlook for teams across the continent.
